If you have not been following my journey and have no idea what the “Sign Post Forest” is all
about, then perhaps you should peruse my previous report (click:
HERE) before proceeding.
So, I surprised Kobi with a sign to put up reflecting this “2 Chicks, 2 Wheels” thing and
needless to say, she was quite excited. Here's our sign:
We departed Watson Lake heading for the Cassiar Highway (BC-37) in unbelievable weather....
bright sun and 70F temps. When I passed through here previously it was drizzling and
cool enough that I had my heated jacket on. Today we rode all day with light gear and with sunscreen on!
Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw something, so I flipped the Strom
around. Lo and behold...
...but she wasn't alone!:
Mama Bear proved “defense of cubs” is strictly a grizzly bear trait and ran into the
bushes. Meanwhile, Baby Bear #1 climbed a tree, while #2 and #3 skamped into the woods:
We waited and watched very quietly, then back came Mama Bear and down came Baby Bear:
His siblings went about the business of eating berries and romping while he took a break and scratched his ears:
After all the energy expended climbing up and down the tree, pawing branches, eating, chasing
his siblings and mother, this little guy was apparently pooped and took a nap:
An attempt with the camera's timer:
