“Wii” might just leave you dazed….

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 1:46 pm

On a late night this past weekend I realized I needed something that could only be obtained at WalMart given the late hour (11pm). I don’t shop often; shopping ranks on my list just below standing at line at the DMV. When I do go, it doesn’t take very much for me to be hit max sensory overload trying to process human behavior and what I see and hear.  The WalMart parking lot was enough for me to hit an internal cognitive redline: walmartpimpbike.jpg

I don’t know what the story is on the motorcycle and “what” much less “why” will go forever unanswered. The next site was this: wiishanty.jpg (more…)

Yup, still headin’ for Alaska….

Ok, so maybe I’ve not yet been bit by the blog thing yet given the lapses b/w posts. I’m thinking it might happen when I’m back on the road… perhaps posting in-progress ride reports that will ultimately go on the SeizeTheJourney.com site? At any rate, I’ve been busy-busy (which is no surprise to anyone who knows me) as have my good buds Jim and Glenn with the Grand Opening of their shop, Ton Up Motorcycles. I’m so proud of them! They’re official dealers of Benelli, Royal Enfield, and Moto Guzzi. (Btw, the MG Norge just arrived on Monday and Kent was at Ton Up waiting for them to finish so he could take it home to his garage.) As for me, my latest addition is awaiting my arrival in Roll Tide country. I’m off to the USA Four Corners banquet in a week then I’ll fly out to get the new ride (07 FJR1300) a few days later. Remember, it ain’t about the machine for me… it’s all about the journey. ;)

The pencil plan for my longer 07 rides is looking like this:   ….late April/early May I’ll be in Northeast (specifically MA) then up to Montreal to see “oldgoat” (Mike & Caryl). I’ll also be making a 3rd attempt at the National Park stamp in Wilton, CT.      ….Mid-June in SanFran then head straight for East TN for “Strom Fest” the first week of July.    ….by 3rd week of July I’ll hopefully be on the way to AK. Will likely hit Canadian Rockies/MT on the return instead of on the way though I’mnot quite sure at this point. One thing is for sure, I’ll be riding!

More Fighting Artichoke…

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 7:23 pm

Quick day trip yesterday to Palomar Mountain, CA. Though the purpose was indeed the destination (real estate), enjoying a super road during the journey is always imperative:

Heading over to Scottsdale (AZ) Community College tonight to see my friend play in a basketball tournament. Apparently there is a SCC campus stir regarding the Fighting Artichoke mascot “Artie” who, despite the riddling fear such a vegetable might conjur, has come under fire by students for not portraying a “tough” logo image. (I’m not making this up people). Consequently, the administration has responded with three new possible logo choices for Artie and voting is underway. Hmmm…. these same Artie voters will be also be voting on our next President.

Stand by….

Hello 2007!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 2:29 pm

Ok, so I abandoned the blog thing for a bit. It wasn’t exactly out of a plan but between the holidays and trying to catch up on ride reports for SeizeTheJourney.com I was maxed. Who knows, maybe 2007 might be my break out year for blogging (yeah, right). Maybe I’ll use it as a forum to unload all the things collected in my brain; I think I could use the extra space anyway. I’m going to shoot for updating the blog here at least twice a week. I might throw down some facts, some ideas, or maybe a few plans I’m cooking up.

My “2006 Year in Review” is forthcoming and will definitely be a dandy since I concluded 2006 with 65,911 miles on my collective stable of motorcycles. It was a good year indeed.
