Next: Dead bodies

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 11:37 am

Yeah, it’s been a whirlwind of the last week. I’m back in Phoenix and working on the last of the Journey Report from my return on the F-A-R Journey and trying to catch back up to issues here. Next out of town jaunt is next weekend to Palm Springs and San Diego (via Palomar Mtn) w/a few close friends. ;-)

Next up, I’m going to go see a supposedly spectacular exhibit of dead bodies at the Arizona Science Center - - talk about doing something unique…geez, how cool is that?!

For other mind-bending visuals check out this link: HERE …. W-O-W!!

I could do just fine without either of these….

Why I’m not on my way back to ‘Zona:

While I was at D&H Cycles yesterday in Alabama w/the FJR I perused the gear section and discovered a pair of motorcycle boots. I know a chick or two that might just consider taking up motorcycling just so they can wear boots: :D wtfboots.jpg

No one else call me from Phoenix to tell me it’s 70 degrees!

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 7:28 pm

Rode 300 miles today… it was a rather brisk jaunt given the temperature. When factoring the wind chill it was -16 degrees. Yes, MINUS 16 degrees! Waaaa-hooooo!! The looks from people in cages was alone worth it. Took this when I started out this morning:

This time next week, I should be in Phoenix’s 70 degree weather….. until then, don’t tell me about it! ;-)

Maybe Mother Nature ain’t a Yamaha fan?

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 9:30 pm

Well, the “R” part of my F-A-R Journey has been challenged by Mother Nature. I rode over 25,000 miles on my V-Strom before it ever saw a single drop of rain (no kidding) and I didn’t even make 3 dry days straight w/the FJR. Due to the inclement weather (mainly ice) it doesn’t look like I’ll be heading back to the left coast until early next week though I am riding down to Cullman, AL on Friday (hopefully). Yesterday I met my good friend (and webmaster extraordinare) Scott to go for a ride. Scott hates rain. He says the water from his daily shower is all the water he’d needs in his life. I’ve concluded whenever Scott and I go ride  (more…)

As they say here in the South, I “GOT-R-DUN”

After 2 days of hard farkling (adding accessories to the bike), the FJR is done. Wa-hoo!! fjr-ml.jpg
My bud (Scott) worked his ass off (I just handed him tools and looked lost most of the time) and now the bike is ready to go… nowhere. (more…)

My brain hurts & I need more Diet Mtn Dew

Filed under: Uncategorized — AGirl @ 7:30 pm

It’s Saturday night and I’m feeling alright…  except that my brain hurts from working on the new bike today w/a friend who, thankfully, is an electrical wizard:

Hope to get caught up on the ride report from Friday; the pics from the F-A-R journey are posted on the website (www.SeizeTheJourney.com). No riding today since there was work to be done on the bike… trying to get it ready so I can get out of these sub-freezing temps and back to mid-70s weather in AZ!

Ok, so I’m back in Phoenix from the USA Four Corners Finishers banquet this past weekend in Ontario, CA…. what a SUPER time!! Such great fun!! I’ve got lots of reporting and catching up to do but since my Dad is visiting I’m hanging out with him (he’d tell you I’m wearing him out) instead of looking at a computer screen. I’m all packed and ready to head out tomorrow…. of course, more to come.
