Picked up another stamp at the "Stones River National Battlefield" in Murfreesboro, TN.  Actually I bagged 2 stamps there since it's also the location for the TN section of the "Trail of Tears National Historic Trail."

Heading out today (Sat 08July06) for "Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area" near Oneida, TN.  Not only is there a stamp there but when I read that the road leading to the park was "very curvy and mountainous", well, that's just too hard to pass up... a stamp AND a curvy, mountainous road.  I'll be going 2up with my Dad, exploring Big South Fork and then heading to his favorite TN State Park "Fall Creek Falls."

I'll end up riding solo to Choo-Choo town to see a relative, riding Deal's Gap on Tues, and meeting SmkyMtnVStrom on Wed to ride to his neck of the woods (the Smoky Mountains) then back to Nashville for a tire change.

Yes, that's right, I've decided not to get the rear tire at the BMW rally.  The tire is suffering from the superslab of I-5 and I-40 in the twisties with a honkin' flat spot (ok, so almost 7k mi isn't helping matters either).  I rode fairly spirited twisties today and I just don't like the feel of the flat spot in the curves.  Yes, the jaunt from here to VT is slab and it could definitely make it but don't want to waste a day waiting with Beemer boys for a tire change when I could be out riding with Stromtroopers.  So, SWMoto is shipping a new rear Tourance to me.  I'll take off the back wheel and take it and the new tire into Stromtrooper's "SCraig" local Suzuki shop to have them change it (see, I told you I avoided stealerships whenever possible--they won't touch my bike and hopefully they can change a tire correctly).  I also ordered a new cush drive so I can replace those when I take the tire off.  Jim, make sure your cell phone is charged on Friday!

p.s. The BMW boys got the RT back together and he's on his way to Boise, ID.
