FJR Fall Full Circle 2009

The FJR Fall Full Circle 2009 began on August 14, 2009 and will consist of approximately 10,000 miles around the USA and Canada.  Journey Reports as I receive them are included below, and for the time being I have left AGirl's original pre-departure notes beneath the Journey Report list to show the expected overall route.

Most of the reports below have a note to the right to denote whether the Journey Report is complete or not.  Those that are incomplete will get finished as she has time to write the reports.

Update - 10/13/09 - What a week!  We left Nashville on 10/1 and got into Phoenix on 10/8 after 3,020 miles through the plains and mountains.  An absolutely fantastic trip, and the reports and photos are getting posted below.  More to come, but I'm still in Arizona so the fun hasn't ended yet!

Starting early October from Nashville, both my FJR1300 and DL1000 V-Strom will head back West.  I have never figured out how to ride both simultaneously so my good friend (and Grand Webmaster here) Scott will pilot my Suzuki.    Apparently collecting National Park Passport Stamps is contagious since Scott has also been afflicted with “Stamp-itis” (for the unknowing, click: THIS) so we we will be bagging as many stamps as we can along the way.  The current plan is to hit these locations assuming we don't hit severe weather along the way:

Little Rock, AR (Little Rock High School National Monument)
Hot Springs, AR (Hot Springs National Park)
Ft Smith, AR (Fort Smith Nistoric Site)
Cheyenne, OK (Washita Battlefield National Monument)
Fritch, TX (Alibates Flint Quarry / Lake Meredith)
Albuquerque, NM (Petroglyph National Monument)
Durango, CO
Ridgeway, CO
Grand Junction, CO (Colorado National Monument)
Cortez, CO (Mesa Verde National Park)
Moab, UT (Arches National Park)
Cedar City, UT (Cedar Breaks National Monument)
Page, AZ
Winslow, AZ (Standin' on the corner ...)
Alpine, AZ (The Devil's Highway)
Phoenix, AZ

For those that are geographically challenged, here is a map of the “circle” (yeah, I know, weird looking circle, but I've already done the “big circle” (aka “USA Four Corners Tour”, report HERE).  Keep in mind this is all really just first phase planning.  Actually, the section from North Dakota to Maryland is the one I'm the most undecided on right now:

If you have suggestions for any “must see” places along my route (or in the general 500 mile vicinity ), by all means shoot me an email (HERE).  The feedback and support I receive is very humbling and I once again want to express my sincere appreciation.
